Today marks Kurtis and I’s 1 year anniversary of us being married. I thought today would be the perfect day to share my the highlight photos of our wedding day.

Wow! I can’t believe it’s already been a year! I feel like our wedding day was yesterday. It was one of the best days of my life!

From the beginning Kurtis and I wanted to plan an intimate, outdoorsy wedding day. We had a smaller wedding of 70 of our closest family and friends and it took place at Belwood Conservation Area. It was the perfect, little, quaint and rustic venue for us!

The theme for our wedding was colourful, rustic chic. I love colour and I know I wanted to use a lot of it in my wedding so to do that I opted for all pastel shades for an elegant, timeless look. A ton of DIY projects went into making our wedding day feel personal, DIY and rustic. (I have the hot glue gun scars to prove it!) My Dad made our wedding cake, my mother in law supplied and designed all of the flowers and everyone worked so hard to make our special day perfect.

I can’t thank everyone else enough who helped make our special day so amazing – our families, friends, wedding party and all of our vendors – Little Mushroom Catering, Mark and Dino at DJ Charlie Clean, Roy-Al Rentals, Dean at Kettlecreek Wedding Officiants, Alysia at AM Pro Makeup Artistry and the Belwood Lake staff.

A HUGE shout out goes to Julie Broadbent Photography who captured our special day. I have been working with Julie for over 7 years now and she has taught me so much about wedding photography over the years. It was an honor to come full circle and have her photograph my wedding – I love you, Julie! <3

For my entire wedding day I was on cloud 9 just from being so happy to marry my best friend and the day was the most perfect day ever.

Kurtis- you are an amazing husband and today, after 11 years of being together, I love you even more each and every day. Thank you for being my partner in this crazy thing called life.

Also, here’s a couple of shots of me photographing my own wedding details. It’s one of my favourite parts about weddings and I couldn’t resist!
