3 Amazing DIY Guest Favor Ideas - Julia Seiler Photography

Guest favors are the bride and groom’s way to thank their guests for attending their wedding and putting in the time and effort to support their new marriage. Guest favors are really the BEST way to show appreciation and gratitude to your guests and you want to get it right! I’ve been to a LOT of weddings and seen a lot of favors and in my opinion, the DIY ones are the best! DIY favors show your guests just how appreciative you are of them, and they mean more than any store bought gift! They also give you a chance to show off your creativity! Today I’m sharing with you all my top 3 favourite DIY guest favor ideas! Enjoy!

1. Candles

Candles are a GREAT guest favor!  That special, personal touch of creating a candle for a guest is just awesome and your guests will love it! The best DIY candle I’ve seen at a wedding is ones that the bride made all my herself in beautiful, re-usable jars that had a lid with the couple’s name and thank you written on it. They looked gorgeous and they were such a thoughtful gift! Candles are also something that many people use, so you can’t go wrong!

2. Desserts

OK! This one is hands down my favourite because I have SUCH a big sweet tooth! Desserts are an amazing gift to give as favors! For that bride that is a great baker, this route definitely works the best! The thing I love about dessert guest favors is that you can really customize the dessert and add that special, personal touch to it for your guests. For example, making a dessert that is a family recipe that has been passed down for years is a great way to really make your guests feel included and like they are a part of something that’s special to you and your family.  If not a family recipe, maybe it’s just you and your partners FAVOURITE cookie recipe, or cupcake. Get creative and really give your guests a dessert that is yummy and has meaning!

3. Spreads or Sauces

This one is similar to the one above, in the sense that you can incorporate something homemade or special to you to give to your guests. One spread idea is a homemade jam, so one couple this past summer made homemade strawberry jam for guest favors and it was delicious! It was in a cute, little mason jar with a customized tag that said the couple’s names and wedding date. It not only looked great, but tasted great too and who doesn’t use jam? Everyone does! It’s a great gift that you KNOW people will use up! Another one is sauces and one year I had a couple that loved spice and hot sauces, and they loved them so much that they had their own family recipe, so they made that for their guests to take home as favors! Again, the thought is there, the personal touch is there and it’s a gift your guests will love and appreciate!

Alright, that’s it for today! Thanks for reading!
